AFM Tabernacle Of Prayer

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

A dynamic spiritual church empowered by the Holy Spirit to communicate the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world, which is the vision of this church.

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:23-24

ABOUT OUR PASTOR

I am Evangelist J. Gwenyaya, a servant of the Most High, anointed and appointed to preach the Gospel with power, leading lost souls to Christ. As the Senior Pastor of Tabernacle of Prayer Assembly under the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in South Africa, I oversee the Woodstock branch in Cape Town, while also shepherding another branch in Hout Bay. Standing on the frontline of ministry, I am committed to fulfilling God’s divine call on my life with unwavering faith.

A teacher by profession and an evangelist by divine assignment, my mission is to proclaim the undiluted Word of God, baptize believers, shepherd His people, intercede for the sick, break chains of bondage, set captives free, and prepare souls for Christ’s return. Ministry is not just about preaching—it’s about transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Born in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, I was raised in a family that bore the name of Christianity yet lacked a deep, personal commitment to Christ. But by God’s grace, I had a life-changing encounter with Him, stepping into my true calling as His vessel. I was married to Pastor Emmanuel Gwenyaya, a faithful warrior of Christ who completed his race and went to be with the Lord. Though I continue the ministry without him, his legacy remains. I am also a proud mother of two—a son and a daughter—whom I am raising in the fear and wisdom of God.

Beyond preaching, I am a marriage counselor, guiding couples to build Christ-centered relationships and restore broken homes through biblical principles.

Vision

To preach the unshakable truth of the Gospel to all nations, declaring Christ as the only Savior and raising a generation of believers empowered by the Holy Spirit, anchored in truth, and ready for the Lord’s return.

Until He calls me home or until He returns, I will remain steadfast in my mission—to ignite faith, break strongholds, and establish God’s kingdom on earth.
